The agreement
Terms of Service
In effect since 12 October 2026
These terms govern your use of EDAH Shipping — booking freight between Ghana and Nigeria, shopping the EDAH market, and moving money through the EDAH wallet. Creating an account means accepting them.
01Who we are
EDAH Shipping (“EDAH”, “we”) operates freight lanes between Ghana and Nigeria, a marketplace for goods moved on those lanes, and a wallet used to pay for both. We trade as EDAH Group. Contact: support@edahshipping.com.
02Your account
You must be at least 18 and able to enter a contract where you live. You are responsible for what happens under your account, including anything paid from your wallet, and for keeping your password to yourself.
- One account per person. Accounts exist to hold money and shipments, so duplicates are closed.
- Keep your email and phone current — that is where booking status, payment verification and support replies go.
- Tell us at once if you think someone else has your account.
03Booking freight
A booking is an instruction to move cargo on a stated corridor, at a stated weight or volume, on a stated batch. The price shown when you confirm is the price for that booking, based on the details you entered — if the cargo turns out to weigh or measure differently, we contact you before moving it.
- A booking is not paid until payment clears. Until then it sits as awaiting payment and the batch slot is only provisionally held.
- You are the shipper of record for customs purposes and are responsible for a lawful, accurately declared description of contents.
- Prohibited and restricted goods are not carried. If we find restricted cargo we stop the shipment and contact you.
04Marketplace orders
Goods on EDAH Market are sold by the listed sellers and fulfilled through our lanes. An order is confirmed once payment clears; a transfer is only cleared when an admin matches it against our account, which usually takes a few hours on business days.
Prices are shown in the currency of your market (GH₵ or ₦). Import duties, levies and clearance charges at the destination are yours unless the listing says otherwise.
05Payments, wallet and bank transfers
- Wallet: you top up, then pay from the balance. The wallet is a stored-value balance for EDAH services — it is not a bank account, is not interest-bearing, and is not covered by a deposit guarantee scheme.
- Bank and MoMo transfers: we give you our account details and a unique transfer reference. You send the amount, upload the receipt, and an admin verifies it against the statement. Nothing is credited automatically, because there is no webhook to trust.
- We never ask for your bank password or one-time codes. Anyone who does is not us.
- A transfer that cannot be matched to a reference is treated as an unmatched payment and refunded to the sending account after verification.
06Cancellations, refunds and claims
- Cancel a booking or order before it ships and we refund in full, less any third-party cost already incurred.
- Once cargo is dispatched, the freight charge is earned and not refundable.
- Cargo damaged or lost in our custody: claim within 7 days of delivery with photographs, and we settle at the declared value up to the lane limit, or the carried goods cover if you bought it.
- Refunds go back the way they came — wallet balance returns to the wallet, transfers return to the sending account.
07Acceptable use
You will not use EDAH to move prohibited goods, launder money, evade sanctions or customs law, or abuse our staff or other customers. We may suspend an account while we investigate, and close it for a serious or repeated breach.
08Liability
We are careful, and we are liable for loss caused by our own negligence in carrying your cargo, capped at the declared value of the shipment or the amount you paid for it, whichever is lower. We are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, for delay caused by customs or weather, or for anything a seller does. Nothing here limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited.
09Changes and governing law
We will post any change here and, if it materially affects you, notify you in the app or by email. Continuing to use EDAH after a change takes effect means accepting it. These terms are governed by the laws of Ghana, and disputes go to the courts of Ghana.
